In the case of lifting the restrictions on crude oil exports Mr. Twain would be right. Recent op-eds in the New York Times, Washington Post and Wall Street Journal show not everyone is doing their homework because, they argue, U.S. refiners can’t handle the large volume of Bakken and Eagle Ford light crude oil. Bunk. AFPM replied with letters to the editors, but not surprisingly, only the Wall Street Journal ran our response.
